Dave Kellogg Biography

Dave Kellogg is an experienced enterprise software executive, angel investor, board member, advisor, thought leader, and blogger. Dave joined Host Analytics in 2012, and under his leadership the company has dramatically increased the size of its subscription base, raised more than $50M in venture capital, won numerous awards for its leading FP&A technology, introduced Modeling as a new major component of the product line, increased customer satisfaction, expanded its strategic partner network, and carved out the company’s position as leading scalable cloud-based EPM platform.

Prior to Host Analytics, Dave was SVP and General Manager of the Service Cloud at Salesforce.com, the company’s second-largest product line at the time. Before that, Dave was CEO of MarkLogic and grew the company from $0 in revenues to an $80M+ run-rate in six years. Previously, Dave was CMO at Business Objects during a nine-year phase as the company grew from 250 employees and $30M in revenues to over 4,500 employees and $1B in revenues. Dave started his career in technical and product marketing positions at Ingres and Versant.

Dave sits as an independent director on the boards of data catalog leader Alation, agtech innovator Granular, and content management disruptor Nuxeo.

Dave is the author of the highly regarded Kellblog where he covers topics ranging from startups, metrics, venture capital, and Silicon Valley to cloud, analytics, and big data technologies.

Dave has bachelor’s degrees in geophysics and applied mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.
